The Philippines is an archipelago comprised of more than 7,000 islands located 500 miles off the coast of Vietnam. It promises travelers a paradise of beaches, rainforests, waterfalls, underground rivers and rice terrace amphitheaters. There’s also the chance to experience the culture of indigenous tribes who still practice ancient traditions.
Though the Philippines opened its borders to international travelers on Feb. 10, 2022, there are still entry requirements. Travel insurance providing a minimum of $35,000 in medical coverage for Covid-related issues is required to visit the Philippines.
Travelers who are fully vaccinated and have valid visas may enter the Philippines without quarantine as long as they show a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours of departure from their country of origin. Unvaccinated travelers can enter with a negative pretest but must quarantine at an approved facility for five days. Following a negative Covid test result on the fifth day, they can quarantine elsewhere until their fourteenth day in the country.
