WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 10, 2022) – MBA President and CEO Bob Broeksmit, CMB, released the following statement on the passage of the omnibus bill by the U.S. House of Representatives:
“MBA congratulates the House for passing this legislation that includes important housing provisions. We also applaud the Chairs and Ranking Members of the House and Senate Appropriations committees for its completion. MBA was especially pleased to see the requirement of HUD to report on efforts to resolve delays in the FHA multifamily pipeline funding, language supporting FHA IT modernization, the inclusion of the Adjustable Interest Rate (LIBOR) Act, and the extension of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
“These provisions will help consumers, including low-to-moderate-income tenants and borrowers, participate in both the rental and homeownership experience.
“I now encourage the Senate to pass this bill quickly so it can be signed into law by President Biden.”
