MANILA, Philippines — Lucena City is now “very low risk” for COVID-19, a fellow of independent analytics group Octa Research said Sunday.
Citing data from the Department of Health, Dr. Guido David noted that the COVID-19 growth rate in Lucena is at -68 percent.
Meanwhile, the National Capital Region (NCR), among other highly urbanized cities (HUCs), remained at low risk, said David.
“Lucena at very low risk. NCR, Angeles, Bacolod, Dagupan, Lapu Lapu, Olongapo, Tacloban at low risk. Iloilo City, other HUCs at moderate risk,” he posted on Twitter.
“Cases continue to decrease but let’s still practice safety measures,” he added.
Attack rate
Lucena’s average daily attack rate (ADAR), or the number of infected individuals per 100,000 population, stood at 0.79.
The reproduction number, or the number of individuals a COVID patient could infect, is at 0.13.
Health experts earlier said that the ideal reproduction number is below one, an indication of lesser virus spread.
The COVID-19 positivity rate is at three percent, below the World Health Organization’s benchmark of five percent or less.
The city’s healthcare utilization rate, meanwhile, is at 15 percent which is considered very low risk.
The country registered 1,923 COVID-19 infections on February 19, the lowest this year. Overall caseload is now at 3,650,748.
